The collaboration between Auto-Kilta and Elektroway announced in the beginning of spring has advanced succesfully during the summer. The solar power systems were installed in June and July to Auto-Kilta offices in Mikkeli and Savonlinna, and the installation in Auto-Kilta Trucks in Mustola, Lappeenranta is underway. The solar plant that is being installed has the power of 88 kWp.Â
The first of Auto-Kiltas solar power systems deployed was the 51.7 kWp plant in Mikkeli, and it has been in use since the middle of July. During its short operating time, the plant has already produced 12,25 MWh, and thus decreased CO2 emissions by 4800,5 kg - this equates the plantation of 16 new trees. The production of the plant was 5,73 MWh in August, exceeding all production predictions.Â
The 52.25 kWp solar plant of Savonlinna was deployed at the end of July, and has also met production predictions well. The system has thus far produced 9,35 MWh altogether and decreased CO2 emissions by approximately 3700 kg, equating the plantation of 13 trees. In August the production was 6,29 MWh, also surpassing set production predictions considerably.
Auto-Kilta wants to invest in decreasing its carbon footprint. In addition to selling hybrid and electric cars, even more low-emission car dealerships can be established around the lake Saimaa area by utilizing solar plants in fulfilling their energy demands.
