We are looking firmly to the future by reducing the carbon footprint of our operations, and our goal is to be a carbon-neutral energy and water company by 2026, when our district heating produced with renewable energy sources will be a pioneer in its field and still the most sought-after form of heating in our distribution area. We supply the best tap water in the world; it has been proven to be clean and has an exceptionally refreshing flavour. We also want to ensure that, in the future, the water we release back into nature through our new wastewater treatment plant, the most modern of its kind in Europe, is the cleanest in Finland.
The share of renewable domestic energy sources used in the energy production of Lappeenrannan Energia clearly exceeds the national average. For more than ten years, the majority of Lappeenrannan Energia’s district heat has been produced as combined heat and power production at the Kaukaan Voima bio power plant. We procure carbon dioxide-free district heat from the Adven power plant in Joutseno and wind power from Suomen Hyötytuuli.Â

We are particularly investing in digital services. MinunEnergia.fi is available to our customers for energy and water supply matters 24/7, free of charge. Issues related to the connections of our products can be handled with us electronically at MinunLiittymä.fi.
The Kaukoviisas service can also be ordered electronically and allows us to ensure that our customers have a properly adjusted and optimally functioning district heating system. It increases living comfort and allows customers to save on heating costs.
In problem situations, our fault reporting service is available to our customers. Our telephone service for reporting electricity, heat and water supply disturbances is open 24/7.
In our active development model, future customers, children and young people, are involved in brainstorming and can propose their own visions and solution models to increase the vitality of the region and further improve our operations. We are present in our customers’ everyday lives through our accessible online service, our electronic newsletter and via our social media channels.
