The high level Uzbek delegation visited Imatran Lämpö Oy in April 8. The delegation consisted of representatives from the Ministry of Housing and Communal services of Uzbekistan and from the main District Heating companies.  The visit was a part of the World Bank’s and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD’s) feasibility Studies related to the energy reconstruction in Uzbekistan.
The number of solar power plants connected to the grid is continuing on a good upward trend in the South Karelia area. Both the number of power plants and their combined output have doubled in a year. At the end of 2018, the region had more than 500 power plants with a combined output of 4 MWp. A sharp increase in solar power has been a common trend throughout Finland over the past year.

City bikes are to be introduced in Lappeenranta next summer with locations all around the city. This will be a bicycle rental system used with a mobile application. The city bike season runs from June to the end of October.
Elektroway Oy and Proheat Oy, member companies of the Greenreality Network of the energy and environmental sector, are participating in the implementation of LUT Junior University workshop activities. The companies have been involved in the planning of the Greenreality Network workshop from the beginning with LUT and the City of Lappeenranta. The network’s workshop was piloted at the university on Thursday 21 March for the 8th graders of Sammonlahti School.
The heating of an industrial hall in Lappeenranta became more energy efficient and effortless with geothermal heat. Going forward, the entrepreneur’s time is freed up to do productive work instead of heating the hall.
In late 2018, Proheat was able to implement a heating system renovation of an industrial hall in Lappeenranta, which involved switching the old woodchip/oil heating to modern geothermal heat.
The rapid development of virtual technology, especially in technical design and gaming industry environments, has created a vast application market for all social activities. Virtual technologies make it possible to illustrate ever more complicated environments and create new connecting and accelerating bridges between different types of functions.

Attached specification are formed to describe applicable mill, or high shear attrition grinder, that is suitable to provide the material quality required in fibrous geopolymer additives milling/mixing/activation.
